what's in your pantry?

my friend Morven over at food art and random thoughts posted about having recently read an article on what one should have in their pantry.

i share my kitchen space with two other people so i only have one small-ish cupboard for use as a pantry. as pretty much the only one in the house that cooks, this drives me insane... but what can i do. we have to be "fair" and share everything.

this is what my "pantry" looks like.

Morven asks "what is the most unusual item in your pantry?"
my answer: chanterelle pate'

somehow i went from someone that hated to cook after having cooked for my family since the age of seven to being the girl with five different kinds of flour, four different kinds of honey, three different kinds of balsamic vinegar, two different kinds of peanut butter, a container of chanterelle pate (and a partridge in a pear tree...) in her pantry.

so, what's in yours?

Well my pantry has a variety of things including some dried pasta and rama noddles that need to be thrown out

My husband teases me but being raised in Fl most of my life
we had to prepare for hurricanes

So a pantry always had things like bottled water and things that wouldnt spoil (supposely)

well here is a news flash rama noodles go stale after a time and are nasty

you are absolutely right, november rain... dry pasta (including ramen) only lasts about one year.

Wow, that's a lot of posts for one day! Hope you are feeling better as a result of a restful (and Marc Anthony-filled) leave.

I like to cook too. I recently picked up a stash of new spices from Penseys, just outside of Boston. My favorite is Hungarian Smoked Paprika. My pantry also has a bag of curried cashews (yum), black Chinese vinegar, walnut oil, fish sauce, coconut oil, organic coconut milk, and some rice noodles. Anyone for asian food?
